When will I be paid?

Once you have fully switched over and your first month’s Direct Debit has been successfully taken, Octopus will be able to add £50 to your account. This will happen automatically within a few weeks. You’ll be able to check whether you’ve received your credit via by logging onto your account and viewing your account dashboard – there will be an option to check your balance history, which will show any credit as +£50 from Octopus Energy. It typically takes around four weeks from when you join (although it can take longer if anything delays your switch).

What if I have a pre-pay meter?

If you’ve got a traditional pre-pay meter, sign up as usual. Once your account is set up, get in touch with Octopus and ask for the referral credit – you can then either:

● Send Octopus direct debit details, which allows them to process the referral credit as a refund that can then be used to top up your meter.

● Ask for the credit to be sent out as a key or card with £50 as pre-loaded credit.

You’ll need to have signed up directly through the Octopus site so that they can add the referral to your account.

What if I have a smart pre-pay meter?

If you’ve got a smart pre-pay meter, sign up as usual. Once your account is set up, get in touch with our energy specialists and ask them to add the referral credit to your smart pre-pay meter.

Can I earn money like you once I sign up to Octopus?

Yes, that’s the great thing. Once you are an Octopus Energy customer you will also get your own referral link and then you can preach about how good Octopus is and then get your friends and family to join Octopus and get £50 credit like us.
